Avengers AU - The City of Dreams [Masterpost]

Chapter One – London

As the plane banked sharply to the left, it finally dipped through the high layer of typical, British cloud that had been with them since leaving the Atlantic. For a few minutes all they could see were grey tendrils sweeping past the windows, and the plane went quiet in anticipation.

Although this was Clint’s second Olympics, the time difference and long flight meant that he, like most of the team, had fallen asleep four years ago when they had circled over Beijing. He had chastised himself later for being foolish enough to miss seeing the capital from the air.

The archer had made sure not to make the same mistake this year by having three consecutive coffees. This was after he had fallen asleep for a short period once they had taken off from LA.

It was odd because he had once again found himself dreaming about the same thing that had visited him in sleep the past few nights. A woman. She had a slim build and was wearing a pale blue dress that hugged her slender curves. Being a contrasting colour, it ignited her fiery red hair which curled down her back. She seemed very beautiful, but always had her back to him. He called out to her, and in each dream she turned a little more, but he still hadn’t fully seen her face.

In the most recent version, he had seen the curve of her cheekbone, an emerald earring and the beginning of dark lashes, before Bruce nudged him awake.

Avengers short - ‘A sketch’.

So someone requested Steve and Thor having issues with technology ages ago - it may have been tiny-knight.

But yeah anyway, have some Avengers now that I finally have free time to write again.

It’s not proof read because I’m naught, and going out my dance class soon, so if there are any heinous spelling errors please forgive me, and I’ll sort them later.

Enjoy!

A Sketch

When Tony walked in on Thor and Steve having a quiet conversation in the large and glassy, open plan kitchen that took up almost an entire floor, he didn’t think anything of it. He picked out a can from the fridge whilst fiddling with the wires of a hand-held control, added a sly remark and left without a second glance.

He particularly didn’t think much of the way they stopped instantly stopped talking and turned to look at him. He was perfectly used to the spotlight; when he entered a room people tended to notice. He naturally attracted attention.

Uniting Hearts [Masterpost]

The Avengers – Uniting Hearts

Chapter One- Decadence

As the second hand clicked pointedly around the clock face, Steve’s irritation was almost palpable. The rest of the team sat chatting quietly around the boardroom conference table, apart from Steve himself who stood behind his chair, and the one remaining member who had yet to show up.

Tony was always late. He owned the building, Stark Tower, which they all lived in, and yet he never failed to casually stroll in late to the boardroom for a meeting or debriefing. Steve was usually very tolerant and forgave Tony a few moments after he’d walked in offering reasons, such as updating their security, for his absence.

Today, however, was different. Fury had informed them of a situation across the city that required their urgent attention. As soon as he had debriefed them in a conference call they were to fly straight out. This had been twenty minutes ago and the other four members of the team had immediately gathered in the boardroom. They were still waiting for Tony.

Just as Steve made a move towards the doors to go and find him, the very man in question swaggered in through them.

The first three steps, Thor stumbled.
On the ninth, Loki caught him.

~
Three steps before he stumbled. At four his vision blurred. At six his wounds throbbed. And on the ninth the world tilted.
The ground hit him at the same time two arms did. Stiffling his fall in effect. They were deceivingly strong, the two arms. And they were angry, but held him tenderly. There was only one person who had arms like those.
“I thought you long gone Loki.” Thor murmured, pain and a sudden tiredness making his voice far quieter than normal.
“Hush brother. You will soon be well.”
“I… am fine.”
“You must let me heal you.”
“Do not waste your magic, Asgar…dian physiology…allows us to regenerate… rapidly.” His words had began caught in the sleep-like haze that was overtaking his body.
“As true as that is, you wounds are being stopped from healing by the poison that is infecting your system. You will die if I don’t heal them.”
“You would do this…for me? After…everything.”
“…Yes.” Loki offered no explanation why, but his tone was at its most gentle.
“Don’t fall asleep.” He said, as a pale green light surrounded the free hand that wasn’t holding the blonde God.
Thor was quiet as Loki began to heal his wounds, his eyes drooping.
“Do not let yourself sleep.” Loki reminded him softly. “Talk to me instead.”
Thor half believed he had imagined that last part.
“Why…save me? Your hatred for me is too vast.”
“If you are going to die it shall be by my hand. No-one else has the right.” He said nothing regarding the last part.
“You…don’t sound like you can even convince yourself…of that lie.”
Thor missed Loki’s small smile.
“Believe what you will.”
“I believe a part of you… still cares for me. You could not control that part and it brought you here.”
“Do tell me which part that would be.” His voice never rose above its soft tone.
“Your…heart.”
“I barely have one.”
“Not so. You…called me…brother.” Thor was finding it harder to speak as tiredness overtook him.
“Sleep now Thor, you are healed and that will complete the process.”
As Thor drifted away, Loki drew him minutely closer and placed his lips on the blonde’s forehead.
“We are not of the same blood Thor.” He whispered. “Yet we are connected as brothers.”
A tear slipped down his cheek at the last word.

Urg I really don’t want the Olympics to end.

Let’s have it just never leave London.

Anyway going to try and post chapter one of my Avengers Olympics AU tonight to make up for there only being one day left!

You don’t think it’s silly so begin it just as the Olympics is finishing?

The way I see it is that once the London Olympics is over this will be a little story to tide you over and keep your withdrawal symptoms away. :)

If you guys have any Avengers drabble requests/prompts hit me with them and I’ll write them on the train tomorrow. :)

One Time They Were Each Worthy [Master-post chapters1-3]

One Time they were each Worthy

Chapter One – Steve

The first time someone other than Thor was able to lift the hammer it was in a circumstance that none of them had expected. The God of Thunder was no-where in sight, having been buried under a crumbling building after dropping Mjolnir to push Captain America out of the danger zone. All that could be seen was the corner of the magnificent red cape, now dusty, torn and looking too much like the colour of dried blood, peeking out from under a particularly large, intact piece of stone.

Having cascaded to the ground hard, it took a few moments for the ringing in Steve’s head to subside, and his vision to tone down the brightness of every colour around him. As the past few moment’s events replayed in his mind and arranged themselves into chronological order, the soldier scrambled to his feet, realising that the Thunder God had just saved his life. He may be a super solider, but he doubted his body would have survived the tonne of concrete that had just formed the impressive mountain before him.

An Asgardian God could though.

One Time They Were Each Worthy - Chapter Three

AN - Finally finished chapter three! Sorry it’s taken me longer than I anticipated to upload, but thank you for your feedback. Your continued support really motivates me and makes me smile when I read the comments. Please let me know who you’d like to see next, or which characters you’d like to feature in any bonus chapters I write. :)

Chapter Three – Natasha

The third time someone other than Thor was able to lift the hammer it was in an interrogation. The red-haired assassin stood back surveying the man tied strictly to the chair before her. Outwardly he seemed like an ordinary foot soldier. Brown eyes, light brown hair, thin silver scar above his left eyebrow, standard uniform. But she knew differently. She knew he was going to throw everything in the book at her to put her off his trail.

A conversation I had earlier about the fanfic I posted got me thinking.

Have you read the Sleeping Beauty Avengers story I posted yesterday?

If you haven’t it’s fine, but if you have would like me to turn it into a series?

Avengers fanfiction - Sleeping Beauty

Steve and Tony in an Avengers twist on the classic fairy tale. Yes, I caved and wrote Stony. Nothing too explicit though, just testing the waters with a light and fluffy story. Not entirely happy with the title - it just seems to cliched. If you have any other suggestions, my ask box is all ears. Enjoy, and please let me know if you like it.

Sleeping Beauty

Steve walked into the kitchen, rubbing his fingers through his freshly-washed hair and adjusting his grey t-shirt. He slowed to a standstill when he noticed a single red rose leaning elegantly out of the top of a transparent vase.

“Tony?” He called, noticing that the billionaire wasn’t in the kitchen.

“Tony, someone’s left you flowers.” He added, raising his voice a little louder. “Or rather one flower.” He murmured under his breath.

Steve stared at it for a few moments more, then walked away to pour himself a glass of water. He wasn’t sure why it was bothering him so much.
