One Time They Were Each Worthy [Master-post chapters1-3]

One Time they were each Worthy

Chapter One – Steve

The first time someone other than Thor was able to lift the hammer it was in a circumstance that none of them had expected. The God of Thunder was no-where in sight, having been buried under a crumbling building after dropping Mjolnir to push Captain America out of the danger zone. All that could be seen was the corner of the magnificent red cape, now dusty, torn and looking too much like the colour of dried blood, peeking out from under a particularly large, intact piece of stone.

Having cascaded to the ground hard, it took a few moments for the ringing in Steve’s head to subside, and his vision to tone down the brightness of every colour around him. As the past few moment’s events replayed in his mind and arranged themselves into chronological order, the soldier scrambled to his feet, realising that the Thunder God had just saved his life. He may be a super solider, but he doubted his body would have survived the tonne of concrete that had just formed the impressive mountain before him.

An Asgardian God could though.

One Time They Were Each Worthy - Chapter Three

AN - Finally finished chapter three! Sorry it’s taken me longer than I anticipated to upload, but thank you for your feedback. Your continued support really motivates me and makes me smile when I read the comments. Please let me know who you’d like to see next, or which characters you’d like to feature in any bonus chapters I write. :)

Here’s a link to this story on fanfiction.net in case you want to read it from the beginning. https://www.fanfiction.net/story/story_preview.php?storyid=8262510&chapter=1

Chapter Three – Natasha

The third time someone other than Thor was able to lift the hammer it was in an interrogation. The red-haired assassin stood back surveying the man tied strictly to the chair before her. Outwardly he seemed like an ordinary foot soldier. Brown eyes, light brown hair, thin silver scar above his left eyebrow, standard uniform. But she knew differently. She knew he was going to throw everything in the book at her to put her off his trail.

One Time They Were Each Worthy

A new six part Avengers series I’m working on. One time that each of the team were worthy enough to lift Mjolnir. Each character gets a chapter, and I might add bonus ones if I feel like it. Here’s is chapter one, and it isn’t proof read (terrible, I know) because it’s one in the morning and I’d like to sleep now. It’s funny how you always get a burst of inspiration at the most inconvenient hour. Anyway, enjoy the first chapter, I’m posting it on my fanfiction.net accout too (the link to said account is in my right-hand sidebar) so if you decide to leave me feedback on here or on there, I’d be eternally grateful and set up a little shrine to you in my room.

I haven’t decided who the next chapter will centre around, but if you leave feedback suggesting who you’d like next, that would really help me choose. (Not fishing for feedback or anything like that :P)

nautilusl2:

The time he was found worthy
It did not matter. Loki hauls his unconscious brother onto his back and to safety. Picking up The Hammer was an afterthought.

Loki hadn’t believed what he was seeing at first. There were only two times in his life when he had seen Thor bested by an enemy, and although he disliked the feeling of being in his brother’s shadow, they brought back painful memories because he disliked seeing his brother injured more.
It seemed Thor, as was the loyalty that ran through him like blood, had probably been helping a civilian escape when he was ambushed by multiple creatures simultaneously. The debris Loki could see suggested he had dealt with several of them before one caught him from behind.
His brother now lay crumpled on the ground, unconscious. Mjolnir rested just a few feet away. His vivid red cloak had fanned out around him like a soft cushion to halt his collision with the ground. Its normally perfect texture was ripped tattered in several places. The colour of it always made Thor seem victorious, even though now he was now helpless and quite the opposite.
The furious creature stood over him menacingly, its scythe drawn back for a final blow. A blow it was never able to make.
Loki’s throwing knife whipped through the air, burying itself in the monster’s heart. This sent it crashing backwards onto hard concrete; killing it in one move.
The God of Mischief ran to his brother’s prone body, kneeling down carefully next to him in order to assess the damage.
Thor was bleeding. That was also something Loki rarely saw. The red liquid stood out against the peach tones of his skin in a similar way to his cloak. The two seemed to be competing for dominance almost like a fight between good and evil. Unfortunately the blood was winning as it covered his golden hairline and lower torso. He needed medical attention now.
Without thinking of anything else but his brother, Loki gently but swiftly lifted Thor across his shoulders. He picked up the hammer subconsciously as he moved quickly back to the Asgardian stronghold.
It was only later when the shock of seeing Thor injured had subsided, that someone pointed out he had been able to lift it.
Loki’s amazement lasted only momentarily. He realised that in saving his brother’s life and getting him to safety he had for a short while become worthy.
A smile reached his lips. He knew he was unlikely to ever be able to lift Mjolnir again. But as he walked away to check on his brother in the medical tent, that really didn’t matter.
